Having dedicated myself to Brazilian jiu jitsu for over 5 years and proudly holding a purple belt at age 55, I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative power of this sport. I’ve battled chronic depression since childhood and jiu jitsu is the only activity that I’ve found that fully clears my mind and helps me reset my daily balance, and it’s truly been lifesaving for me. What got me over the hump when I wanted to quit or when I hit an inevitable plateau? Private lessons.
